Renewal

“I shouldn’t have hit you,” you say.,
As you pass me my green tee.
“I threw a pan at you,” I say,
As I put it in my suitcase.
“How did we come to this,” you ask,
Holding our favorite photo frame.
“I won’t be taking that,” I tell you,
Reminiscing how happy we were.
“What about this?,” you ask,
Holding the scrap-book we made.
“What happened to us?” I ask,
Reaching out to your hand instead.
“We played the blame game,” you say,
Pulling your hand away.
“Do you still love me?,” I ask,
Teary eyed, I look at you.
“Just as much as you do,” you reply,
And pass me the mug you got me for Valentines.
“It doesn’t matter now,” I say,
As I squeeze the mug between my clothes.
“Let’s renew it,” you say,
Pulling our scrap-book out.
“What do you mean,” I ask,
As confused as I can be.
“We shared love,” you say,
Opening a picture of us.
“Now let’s share the blame too,” you continue,
With your eyes full of hope.
“I’m sorry, I was horrible,” I apologize,
You just shake your head in disapproval.
“We are sorry, we messed it up,”  you say,
As you wrap your arms around me.
“Let’s fix our mess,” I reply,
As I pass you my blue jeans.
